Why we Built Bhaasa?
Bhaasa was built out of necessity. Every time we made our own videos, captioning took the longest — because every existing tool was built for English, and barely understood Nepali or Newari at all.
So we could either keep struggling with tools that weren't made for us, or fix it ourselves. We chose the latter and started building Bhaasa in early 2025.
After months of development and testing with real Nepali and Newari creators, we shipped a version that finally understood our languages — not just transcribed them.
Because Bhaasa is built by creators, for creators, we're constantly improving it to serve Nepali, Newari, and English speakers better — no more forcing our content through tools that were never made for us.
